Exciting galloper Lincoln Rocks sold to OTI Racing - the money was too good to refuse
Exciting galloper Lincoln Rocks has been sold for a significant six figure sum to leading syndicator OTI Racing.
The four-year-old will fly to Australia on Sunday and join the Warwick Farm stable of leading trainer Annabel Neasham to prepare for the Brisbane winter carnival.
While Lincoln Farms’ owners John and Lynne Street were looking forward to the excitement of racing Lincoln Rocks after his brilliant last-start win at Hastings, it was a deal they simply could not turn down.
And it was a fitting reward for the confidence they had in retaining Princess Maryanne as their sole broodmare after she injured a tendon in just her second start in 2017 when showing enormous potential.
Lincoln Rocks, the mare’s first foal, by Road To Rock, raced just nine times for the Streets, his three-year-old season ruined by a pulled muscle in his shoulder, but he won both of his runs for trainer Lisa Latta over middle distances, the latest on April 29.
A message from OTI and Annabel Neasham Racing said it was Lincoln Rocks’ smooth and relaxed galloping style, and impressive turn of foot, that attracted them to the gelding.
“He is a lightly raced and progressive type that we are excited to welcome into our stable.”

“With a promising future ahead, Lincoln Rocks has already shown great potential as a stayer in his short career.
”He’s by dual Group 1 winner Road To Rock (winner of the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and George Main) and sire of one of Hong Kong’s best in Beauty Generation.
“If you’re looking for a classic staying horse that will be up and racing in a few weeks time, he’s the horse for you,” the message reads.
“Undoubtedly, Kiwi horses have displayed their dominance on Australian turf, as evident from their performances throughout the 21/22 and 22/23 seasons.
“New Zealand-bred horses claimed 16 Group 1 races and 71 Stakes races in Australia during the 21/22 season.”
On its website, OTI Racing prides itself on having scored 127 wins at Group and Listed level and more than 400 stakes performances in eight countries.
Its 14 Group 1 wins have include Cups, Derbies and Guineas, CEO Terry Henderson’s biggest triumph including the Caulfield and Melbourne Cup double with Doriemus in 1995.
The Streets have plenty of relatives to go on with out of Princess Maryanne, including three-year-old Lincoln Lady, who has won both her trials, the most recent at Avondale on Tuesday, two-year-old Billy Lincoln “who is a beautiful horse” and an unnamed Sweynesse yearling.

“I’m hoping the rain stays away as it’s not an overly strong field and we have Jonathan Riddell back on. We will look to get a bit of cover and see if he can finish it off. His work has been really good, and I could not be happier with him. He looks fantastic and is a really happy horse. The changes we have made to him and his routine have made a huge difference so hopefully he can reflect this on raceday as he is at the stage where he needs to show something.”
